Mobile Tutor Classroom
Introducing
Introducing a new innovative onsite MOBILE tutor program in Colorado at Title 1 elementary schools for students who are performing well-below grade level. The tutor program will gather small groups of students throughout the day on a rotational basis, giving each student more of a one-on-one educational interaction. This unique and original classroom will be in a mobilized setting. The program will be offered to students living in underserved communities.

The inequality of education in underserved communities has always existed. Unfortunately, Covid-19 created a wider educational gap for students who are attending underfunded schools.
Mobile tutor classroom is taking a new and necessary approach by bringing an aggressive one-of-a-kind educational tutor program to underserved neighborhoods. We are working to close the educational achievement gap.

Benefits of small group tutoring
Why tutoring
One-on-One Attention
The benefits of one-on-one or small group tutoring session, the student is given a more personalized attention with learning instead of in a large sometimes chaotic classroom with 25 other students.
Stress Free Environment
Private tutoring focus is on the students and their needs. This makes for a more relaxed learning environment where the student can learn at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and even frustrated.
Attitude Toward Learning
One of the many advantages of tutoring, it helps students see the progress they’re making at a faster rate, which can help change their mindset towards learning. They start to see it as a positive instead of a frightening chore.
Better Study Habits
A private tutor will help students learn how to focus, be organized, and set goals. Building these positive habits at a young age will help them succeed academically.
Improves Academic Performance
Tutoring is linked to better grades, higher test scores, and improvement in attitudes toward learning. Academic performance is also linked to future life success.
Improves Confidence and Self-Esteem
Tutoring can help improve a student’s confidence and self-esteem. It allows them to thrive in a supportive environment without being judged and ridiculed by their peers.

The Founder
Barbara
Harding
I have resided in Colorado since the 80’s, born and raised in Auburn, NY, 25 miles outside of Syracuse, home of Harriet Tubman. I had received my teaching degree from the state of New York and proud to say, I come from a family of educators. However, I consider myself much more than an educator. I pride myself as an important voice for the voiceless. I represent children who are typically ignored because of the neighborhoods they live in and the schools they attend. These areas are commonly referred to as low-income “urban” communities. Education is a direct link to job opportunities. Education is a right, not a privilege. Inner City Youth, Inc. (ICYI), a nonprofit organization, has existed since 2001 and its main purpose is to create important programs for children attending underfunded schools, located in underserved communities. The list below are programs in which ICYI has created over a 17-year period.
Laptops4Kids (2020) – collected and distributed free laptops to minority students to own during Covid-19 pandemic.
Food4Kids (2018) – delivered Christmas food boxes to needy families.
KidsGotTalent (2017) – raised money to purchase nonperishable food items for families.
Watershield (2015)– addressed the danger of children passing germs when drinking from the school’s water fountain.
TutorMeK5 (2011-current) – created a one-on-one private tutor program.
Fit4aKid (2010) – researched the danger of childhood obesity in urban communities.
Let’sRapAboutIt (2007) – a forum where children could speak freely about issues that concerns them: bullying, suicide, food insecurity, racism, homelessness.
Klothes4Kids (2005) – collected & distributed children’s coats and other garments.
Tickets4Kids (2003-current) – distributed sports and entertainment tickets to low-income families to attend fun events, courtesy of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment.
